The Bell Aliant Pioneers are a dynamic network of volunteers who move those in need from adversity to achievement. We’ve been working together for a hundred years now, and the positive impact we’ve had on the lives of the people we serve is immeasurable. We’re confident in our ability to continue making the world a better place, starting right in our own hometowns. Deeply connected to our communities, each other and our sponsors, we are committed to meeting the unique needs of our local communities through grassroots projects and programs.
In 2009 alone the Bell Aliant Pioneers donated over $200,000 and made a difference by giving close to 160,000 volunteer hours to a number of community projects including:
- 3,321 books were donated towards literacy
- 1,281 Christmas gifts were donated to various organizations and families
- 1,357 Hug-A-Bears were donated to Atlantic Canadian Charities
- 3,945 Computers were refurbished and donated to schools and other non-profit organization across Atlantic Canada
- 2,169 Heart Pillows we donated to Atlantic Canadian Hospitals
- Helped close to 300 students improve their reading comprehension skills through the Power Up to Read Program.
The work of the Bell Aliant Pioneer Volunteers contributes to Bell Aliant’s overall community investment program.
